A lively day of action in the Combined Counties League saw a number of goals with not a single game finishing 0-0.
Sutton Common Rovers beat Bedfont & Feltham 2-1 in a relegation six-pointer, with fellow strugglers Badshot Lea losing 4-2 at home to CB Hounslow. Chertsey were dragged deeper into the relegation picture with a 3-0 defeat away to Hanworth Villa, who sit in 3rd place in the table
Hartley Wintney bounced back from their midweek cup exit to trounce North Greenford United 7-0, with six of those goals coming in the second half. Westfield and Knaphill both won their games, against Windsor and Walton & Hersham respectively to keep the pressure on, though the gap at the top is a colossal 13 points.
Raynes Park Vale got a useful point with a 2-2 draw at Spelthorne Sports, whilst Horley Town picked up a home win, 2-1 against Bedfont Sports. Guildford City failed to take advantage and overtake Bedfont in the table however, as they were beaten 2-0 at home to Epsom & Ewell. Abbey Rangers won 2-1 at Colliers Wood to round off the action in the Premier Division.
Division One saw a postponement at Frimley Green as some of the AC London side were involved in an accident on the way to the game – thankfully nobody was seriously hurt. Bagshot continued their strong form with a hard fought 2-1 win at Cobham, whilst Banstead Athletic also won narrowly: 3-2 against mid-table Staines Lammas.
Cove’s misery continued with a 4-1 loss at Sheerwater, whilst fellow strugglers Epsom Athletic also suffered a heavy defeat, 4-0 away to Redhill. The biggest scoreline of the day however came at Dorking, who were hammed 7-1 by Balham.
Chessington & Hook suffered a surprise 4-0 defeat at the hands of Worcester Park, and Eversley & California closed in on them with a comfortable 3-0 win against Ash United. Farleigh Rovers and South Park Reserves played out a 2-2 draw in the other game in the division.
