After Saturday's stirring victory at Torquay, Sutton are quickly back in National League action this Tuesday evening (28 February) as they host Boreham Wood, their fourth encounter this season with the Hertfordshire club.
Sutton were beaten 1-0 in last November's league fixture at Boreham Wood. Then, early this month, the two drew 0-0 at Gander Green Lane in the FA Trophy, a game in which Sutton were reduced to nine men. The replay was a match too far for a Sutton side depleted by injuries and suspensions as they lost 5-0.
Sutton manager Paul Doswell will have close to a full squad available for this game, although the injury sustained by goalkeeper Ross Worner on Saturday is likely to keep him out for a few games. Doswell has brought in Will Puddy on loan from Bristol Rovers to cover Worner's absence. Striker Adam Coombes, recently signed from Welling and who played at Torquay, is set for his home debut.
Sutton are now 16th in the table, three places and four points below their opponents, who have played two games more.
Saturday's win was Sutton's first in six matches. The Wood's emphatic Trophy victory is their only win in their last eight games, and on Saturday they lost 2-0 at home to Lincoln City in the Trophy quarter-finals.
