Shots Away For Sutton

Sutton United have another testing National League fixture this Saturday as they travel to seventh-placed Aldershot Town.

The Hampshire club will be keen to get their play-off challenge back on track after losing 1-0 at Guiseley last Saturday, their first defeat in twelve games. They have one of the best home records in the division with eleven wins from eighteen league matches.

Sutton beat the Shots 2-0 at Gander Green Lane in November with both goals from skipper Jamie Collins, although those came only after the visitors had been reduced to ten men through the dismissal of midfielder Jake Gallagher. Last season Sutton lost 1-0 at Aldershot in the FA Cup's fourth qualifying round.

Sutton's form has faltered a little lately. After winning two consecutive games at the end of last month they then drew two before Tuesday night's 2-1 home defeat to Forest Green Rovers. They remain 16th in the table.

Goalkeeper Ross Worner and winger Bradley Hudson-Odoi will be sidelined by injury for some weeks, but otherwise Sutton manager Paul Doswell has close to a full-strength squad. Will Puddy should continue in goal while Kieron Cadogan – who scored his first Sutton goal against Forest Green – is an option in a wide midfield position. With Craig McAllister and Matt Tubbs having returned to Eastleigh, Maxime Biamou and Adam Coombes are now Doswell's first-choice strikers with former Shot Dan Fitchett also available.

Aldershot will be without midfielders Liam Bellamy and Jim Kellermann through injury and suspension respectively.
