This Saturday Sutton United welcome North Ferriby United to Gander Green Lane hoping for a win that will take them close to the 50-point safety target.

Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Maidstone took Paul Doswell's team to 45 points, but another another five or so will be needed from the remaining nine games to ensure that Sutton are competing in the National League again next season.

North Ferriby, promoted last year via the North division play-offs, have been in the relegation zone for most of this season and come to Sutton just one place and two points above bottom-placed Southport. The Humberside club have lost seven of their last nine matches, but did notch consecutive wins against Guiseley and Woking during that run.

Sutton lost 2-1 at Ferriby in November, Sam Topliss and Reece Thompson putting the hosts two ahead before Maxime Biamou pulled back a consolation goal.

Sutton are currently 17th in the table and without a win in five games. Doswell will check on the fitness of Dean Beckwith, Simon Downer and Roarie Deacon who all picked up injuries in the Maidstone game. If Beckwith (who strained a hamstring again) and Downer are unable to play then Louis John could come into the centre of defence alongside skipper Jamie Collins. If Deacon is missing then Jack Jebb may start in midfield.

North Ferriby, making their first ever visit to Sutton, will be without the suspended Taron Hare. Fellow defender Steve Brogan, midfielder Simon Russell and forward Curtis Bateson are all likely to miss the game through injury.
