A Sutton United Front: Who Doesn't Love A Battling Performance?

Well there you have it, safety as good as secured with an excellent comeback against a strong Dagenham side.

At half time it was hard to see any form of result with a fair few of the away support probably happy just to avoid a thrashing.

It would have been easy for the team to throw the towel in but that’s not what this team does, and the side that came out for the second half was unrecognisable.

The intensity was clear to see and less than 10 minutes in parity was restored.

From there on it was the U’s looking the most likely, though a point has to be seen as a very satisfactory result given the circumstances.

Huge credit has to go to Paul Doswell for the halftime substitutions it has to be said, with Dundas and John both coming on and having excellent games.

I have to admit personally I thought taking off Jebb was a strange decision but there’s a reason Doswell is the manager and not me!

Chester, our opponents for Saturday, are far from safe and will be well up for the fight after a devastating loss at home to Woking.

Whilst we more or less have nothing to play for it’s always good to winning games and building confidence, and I’m certain there will be no lack of commitment on Saturday.

At home we’re strong, and with a big crowd likely to turn up for the last home game of the season another excellent performance would be very welcome
