A young Bristol Rovers side sent to Corinthian-Casuals were well beaten by the Bostick League side, Josh Uzun netting a hattrick including two penalties perfectly dispatched.
The first real chance of the game was the opening goal 10 minutes in. A foul 25 yards from goal game Josh Uzun the opportunity from the freekick, and he curled his effort perfectly into the top right hand corner well out of the reach of the Rovers’ keeper. Set pieces provided the majority of the chances in the first half, Charlie Ten-Grotenhuis heading over from close range for the visitors before Casuals themselves came close from a corner 10 minutes later, Thom Jonkerman making a smart save in the Bristol Rovers goal. However the lead was doubled before the break, Menayese penalised for a foul inside the area with Uzun stepping home and firing the ball confidently into the bottom corner from the spot.
The League One side improved in the second half, a driven effort from the edge of the box hitting the inside of the post and bouncing away across the face of goal and behind for a goal kick. Conor Jones then had a freekick flash just wide of the far post. However another penalty for Casuals put the game beyond doubt, Uzun stepping up again and putting the ball in exactly the same place as his first penalty, the keeper going the right way but unable to keep it out. Further chances followed for the hosts as the young Rovers side struggled to match the intensity of their opponents, but they did get a consolation goal late on when Kevin Dunwald took advantage of some lax defending to get through on goal and hit a powerful effort through the keeper’s legs.
