Looking to maintain their position at the top of the table, Sutton fell victim to a few questionable refereeing decisions as Woking ended up 2-0 victors.

The first half was largely dominated by Paul Doswell’s men, Tommy Wright seeing a looping header tipped over by the impressive Nathan Baxter in the Woking goal. Baxter was on hand to stop Cadogan’s low effort 15 minutes later as well, tipping the powerful shot round the post, the corner half cleared to Spence who saw his volley well held. The pressure continued with the best chance coming after 24 minutes, a Simon Walton freekick saved and the rebound from Tommy Wright too weak to beat the recovering keeper. Woking began to grow into the game from this point on and did have one good chance to go ahead before half time, a quick break putting Joe Ward through but the shot was dragged wide.

The second half started in disaster for U’s after a goalmouth scramble eventually saw Regan Charles-Cook head into the net. There was much protest from the Sutton players after the linesman and referee both missed the fact Charles-Cook had come from inside the net to head in, making him several yards offside. The goal was given however and Woking were ahead, leading to them setting up incredibly defensively for the remainder of the game. This proved a tough task for Paul Doswell’s men to break down, Dan Spence perhaps coming the closest when his long range effort was tipped round the post with 20 minutes to go. With all the stoppages it was perhaps surprising only 7 minutes were added on, but as the game entered stoppage time Kenny Davis had a great chance to level, but he tried to set up Jeffrey rather than shooting himself and the chance was gone. Right at the death with everyone forward for Sutton the home side broke and whilst Jamie Butler did well to save the first effort Charles-Cook was first to the rebound to kill the game off
