Tooting made it two wins on the bounce this afternoon with a solid performance from start to finish, outplaying their opponents in all areas of the field.

They got off to a flying start to the game when in just the 3rd minute, Mike Dixon calmly slotted the ball home across the angle of the goal from 8 yards out after dispossessing Regent centre back Matt Cripps just inside the penalty area. Tooting continued to have much the better of the first half and certainly had the best of the remaining opportunities. The back four looked solid, stable and secure while Dominic Morgan-Griffiths and Chace O’Neill worked tirelessly in the centre of midfield supported on the flanks by Dan Clements and Juevan Spencer. Upfront, the twin threat of Mike Dixon and Omar Folkes appeared to gel and both were constantly pressuring the Brightlingsea back line. The only real threat posed by the home side, coming from the occasional long throw from Josh Gould, all of which were comfortably dealt with by Matte Pierson who came off his line to claim the ball confidently on each occasion.

Tooting continued to control the game in the second half, taking just 8 minutes to double their lead as Omar Folkes curled in a low shot from the edge of the box after the ball had been played into him from wide on the left. The second half continued to follow the pattern of the first with Tooting controlling things and Brightlingsea not offering too much in return. The game was finally wrapped up in the 88th minute by Juevan Spencer when he took the ball into the penalty area, beat two defenders and rounded the goalkeeper before sliding the ball left footed into the empty net. One of the strongest all round team performances of the season so far.
