Tooting made it three wins on the bounce on Saturday with a battling performance against Tonbridge Angels despite going a goal down early on.

The home side drew first blood in this hard fought contest when a 25/30 yarder from Joe Turner flew into the back of the back of the net, leaving 'keeper Matte Pierson with little chance at all. However Tooting were back on level terms just four minutes later when Omar Folkes got on the end of a well worked move to strike home a low drive from the edge of the box. The home side had the better of the last 30 minutes of the opening half with Matte Pierson being the busier of the 'keepers. However the teams went in level at the break despite Nathan Elder missing a glorious opportunity to put the home side back in front after 40 minutes.

The second half was a more scrappy affair however it was the Terrors who got the crucial break on 59 minutes when the Angels' defence played their own version of pinball with a fierce drive sent in from Mike Dixon. In the scramble that ensued, the ball was eventually cleared by Craig Stones however he could only smash his clearance against team mate Callum Adonis-Taylor and watch as the ball rebounded in the direction it had come from and looped back, dropping gently into the empty net.

There was still plenty of stout defending to be done however Tooting held on well keeping the home side at bay well into the 95th minute before the referee decided to call a halt to proceedings without there being any further addition to the score.
